Purpose of the Job: Join a small, friendly Data Security Compliance Team and play a vital role in maintaining data protection and security compliance activities. As a Data Protection Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Managing end-to-end processes for data subject requests under the UK GDPR
Improving internal documentation and communications for efficient request processing
Collaborating on the development of tools related to data subject requests
Conducting reviews of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs)
Enhancing in-house assessment processes and documentation
Contributing to the review and relaunch of company-wide processes
Assisting in the refresh and communication of the company's Data Security Policy set
Developing training materials and contributing to awareness campaigns
Supporting the DPO in emphasising the importance of data security compliance
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of current and upcoming UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR)
Extensive experience in fulfilling data subject requests under the UK GDPR
Team experience focusing on providing guidance and advice about UK data protection law
Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
Clear and accurate written and communication skills
Confident IT skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Recognised data protection and/or information security qualifications
Familiarity with Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Outlook, and other Office software
Awareness of information security best practices and standards
