About the Company:
Our client is a pioneer in the lighting industry, specialising in the design and manufacture of lighting solutions for commercial projects. With a head office in Kent and a bustling studio in Soho, London, they are committed to pushing the boundaries of lighting design.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Lighting Designer with a minimum of 3 years in the role to contribute to our vibrant in-house design division. The ideal candidate will work closely with our sales team and clients, attending meetings as necessary to offer professional advice and support on projects. If you have a technical mindset, creative flair, and a passion for working collaboratively in a team, we want to hear from you.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Senior Lighting Designer
Proficiency in Relux, AutoCAD, BIM, or specialist modelling and visualisation software
Strong presentation and organisational skills
A technical background and a flair for design
Ability to work as part of a team
Good understanding of luminaires, accessories, and lighting controls
Familiarity with industry standards, guidelines, and health & safety
Excellent client-facing and project management skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Relux, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office suite
Key Responsibilities:
Design and coordinate lighting projects from inception to completion, including new builds and refurbishments
Create detailed drawings, schedules, and plans, utilising CAD, BIM, or specialised modelling and visualisation software
Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders to present and discuss ideas, concepts, and alternative solutions
Communicate and coordinate with electrical installation contractors
Ensure compliance with building regulations.
Cultivate new relationships and partnerships to promote our client's products
Compile specification sheets and associated documentation
Prepare sales presentation documents
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
University degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or Product Design (experience in the industry is also valued)
Creative and innovative mindset for lighting concepts
Self-motivated and willing to explore novel technologies and lighting details
Strong time and task management skills to meet deadlines
Familiarity with the industry's best practices and health & safety guidelines
