- Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with a leading manufacturer in the local area who are currently looking to expand their manufacturing/warehouse and are looking to develop their stock management and purchasing department. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Controller/Buyer to join their team. Ideally, they are looking for someone to start immediately on a temp to perm basis, however all candidates will be considered.
Predominantly this is a hands-on role, keeping the storage area and stock content in good order, managing the stock and yard. The role will involve administration so it’s imperative that you are computer literate.
Key responsibilities:
Receive, store and issue materials checking items against relevant documentation.
Receive and distribute equipment, tools, etc.
Check the condition of all goods and report damage as needed
Ensure stock is safely stored, managed, and issued to the manufacturing
Monitor stock levels and re-order as required, keeping accurate records
Participate in stock counts/check on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
Maintain the yard to a high standard of cleanliness
Dispose of waste accordingly
Office
Check and ensure stocks levels are monitored on the system
Create orders for stock replenishment in time to maintain correct stock levels for continued production
Create orders for equipment, tools, and equipment maintenance
Control stock and develop systems to have it under control and monitored
Coordinate and decanter overseas container deliveries or other shipments of imported goods
Key skills
Forklift experience
Good understanding of health & safety
Willingness to develop a high level of product knowledge
Computer literate
Problem solver
This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will have a mix of stock and store management experience, be a strong negotiator as a buyer and have a technical background as well as excellent administrative skills. The position works closely with the manufacturing team and Production Controller and a manufacturing background will be an additional benefit.
What’s in it for you?
Salary between £25K - £27K depending on experience
Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm
