Leading renewable energy consultancy in Redhill, are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join them for an initial 3 month contract.
You’ll be joining their team within this fast-growing sector of the market. You’ll need to be a self-starter with a professional attitude who relishes achieving great results.
The work will vary, and will include being responsible for the bespoke mechanical design of renewable energy systems, including ground and air source heat pumps. With a background in building services and experience/knowledge in hydraulics, plumbing, pumps and/or heating as well, you’ll be working on both commercial and domestic projects.
Key areas:
Responsible for designing quality mechanical designs for the systems we install, from feasibility to the handover/completion.
Work as part of a team with other technical designers, project manager’s and sales consultant’s, to create a cost-effective detailed technical design to meet the specification.
Meet with clients and lead design meeting to establish the brief and budgets.
Responsible for the mechanical design of larger and more technically complex projects.
Provide guidance to any mechanical technical queries that arise in the business (EG: from the service department.)
Always look to improve efficiency and reliability by, for example, looking to develop standard, reusable design patterns.
Provide guidance to Junior Engineers.
Continually keeping up to date with relevant technologies in order to provide advice to the company on technology choices.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other internal teams.
Support the design of electrical systems/equipment to provide for a useful and safe workplace.
Above all, designs must consider the safety in product, system and operation.
Qualifications, knowledge and experience:
Qualified in Mechanical Engineering at degree level or equivalent.
Knowledge of CAD, Revit and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge on Mechanical Fundamentals - thermodynamic, hydraulics.
Knowledge of renewable energy systems.
Full driver’s license.
