Lloyd Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well-established company who are recruiting a Service Engineer to join their team.
The role of a Service Engineer is to service, maintain and find fault issues in Heat Pumps and Solar (PV and Thermal), along with associated equipment installed.
The person in this role, needs to be approachable, helpful, polite, conscientious and diligent.
The role comes with an assigned company vehicle for use on company business, share tools, uniform and PPE is provided.
Duties of the role:
- Understand, identify and solve issues on installed systems.
- Conduct routine service and maintenance to installed systems, ensuring efficiency is optimised.
- Ensure that all tools, equipment and parts needed for a job are available on site.
- Ensure that van stock is maintained, placing re-stocking orders as needed.
- Leave the site clean and tidy, remove any rubbish.
- Leave systems in a safe state so as not to cause damage (leaks etc.) to client’s property.
- Test work and check system operation prior to departure from site.
- Complete and return visit paperwork with details of issues found work, completed, further action needed, materials used or needed.
- Prepare written reports on findings for email to the office when necessary.
- Routine servicing of Heat pump systems as arranged by the service administrator.
- Attend breakdowns to investigate and do fault finding.
- Conduct plumbing and electrical repair work when onsite as necessary in order to solve the issues. As well as fixing a problem, maintain a good attitude to finding the root cause of issues rather than a temporary fix, thus avoiding further unnecessary visits which in turn will result in unhappy clients.
- Do repair and remedial work to installed systems as instructed by the service administrator.
- Conduct initial inspections of systems when arranged by the service administrator.
- Accurately complete and promptly return of service paperwork, showing remedial work completed along with details of any further work required with enough information to allow others to prepare quotations for such work.
- Price materials, in conjunction with others, in advance of fitting when onsite and communicate such price information to the client (notes must be made on the service paperwork.)
- Provide OOH support to clients in line with agreed rota, attending sites OOH when an emergency demands a visit.
- Stay away for work when necessary.
- Maintain good communications with clients, others in the department, other members of staff and manufacturers.
- Complete daily time recording sheets and submit these to the office by the end of the following day, this includes work completed OOH’s.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry standards.
- Be able to identify manufacturer’s faults to installed kit reporting back to service admin for warranty claims.
- Remain up to date with manufacturers installation, service and maintenance requirements.
- To ensure that faulty parts are labelled and returned to the office to allow for warranty claims.
- Routine preventative maintenance service checks on installed HP, PV and ST systems as arranged by the service administrator.
