Location: East Grinstead

Salary: £36K DOE 

Are you an organised, hands-on leader with experience in yard or warehouse operations? Our client, an established organisation within the construction trade, is looking for a proactive Yard Supervisor to join their team. 

About the Yard Supervisor role: 

As Yard Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day yard operations, ensuring goods are handled correctly, equipment is used safely, and team members are working effectively. You’ll play a key part in maintaining high operational standards, meeting deadlines, and supporting the wider site. 

Yard Supervisor Key Responsibilities: 

• Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and organisation


• Lead, support, and motivate yard staff to meet performance targets


• Manage the movement, loading, and unloading of materials and goods


• Ensure all inbound and outbound items are checked, recorded, and stored correctly


• Allocate workloads and plan staffing to meet operational demands


• Conduct regular safety checks, including equipment inspections


• Maintain a clean, tidy, and compliant yard environment


• Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and managers to support smooth workflow


• Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies


• Train new staff on yard procedures and safe working practices 

About You: 

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or logistics environment (ideally at a supervisory or managerial level)


• Strong leadership and organisational skills


• Confident communicator who works well under pressure


• Health & safety focused, with a proactive mindset


• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)


• Ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively


• Comfortable working in outdoor and fast-paced settings


• Must be a driver due to location
