Lloyd Recruitment Services is partnering with a leading nursery in East Grinstead to recruit an experienced Nursery Assistant. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn. A minimum of 6-12 months of childcare experience and a Level 3 qualification are required.
Your Responsibilities:
- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework to ensure high-quality education and care
- Cultivate a nurturing, happy, and secure atmosphere for children, parents, and the team
- Assist in the registration and safe handover of children during arrivals and collections
- Plan child-centred activities with the 3 I's (Intent, Implement, and Impact)
- Deliver tailored learning experiences to meet individual needs
- Assist with room preparation and cleanup as necessary
- Collaborate with partners, including other schools, to enhance the learning environment
- Promote positive play for children both at the nursery and by providing ideas for home
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding and child protection protocols
- Participate in regular 1-2-1 meetings and supervision sessions
- Provide support for children with special educational needs (SEND) and ensure appropriate care for their learning needs
- Accurately record notes for books and journals to keep information up-to-date
- Support the transition of children into mainstream school
- Adhere to all policies and procedures
- Attend additional training sessions as required

- Competitive hourly rate of up to £16
- Flexible working hours between 8am and 6pm
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (part time hours will be considered)
Requirements/Experience:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare
- Experience working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) children and families (desirable)
- GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
- Experience working with early years children and families
- Previous experience supervising play sessions
- Ability to work effectively in team environments
- Experience working in an interagency setting
- Proficiency in collating, maintaining, and monitoring information
- Knowledge of setting up a room for safe play
- Ability to work within confidential and data protection boundaries
- Strong listening skills with the ability to provide practical strategies for parents
- Planning and development skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies
- Awareness of Health and Safety practices in a play environment
- Dedication, professionalism, creativity, warmth, and patience
- Strong team player
