With a commitment to excellence and professionalism, our client is seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis from the 18th to the 22nd of September. This role presents a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic legal environment and contribute to the smooth operation of their financial processes.

 

Position: Accounts Assistant - Legal (Temporary)

Duration: 18th - 22nd September

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Hourly Rate: £12 - £17

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, adhering to Solicitors' account rules and regulations, and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering protocols. The role entails various financial tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the business.

 

Key duties include:

 



  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Solicitors' account rules and regulations


  • Possess in-depth knowledge of money laundering prevention measures within the legal context


  • Utilise previous Legal Accounts experience to effectively carry out financial tasks


  • Financial record keeping - Ensure daily postings are accurately recorded and up to date before initiating the reconciliation process


  • Perform daily reconciliations of Client and Office accounts to the bank records, maintaining accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly


  • Statement Confirmation - Verify and confirm completion statements for both sales and purchases, adhering to established procedures and maintaining a high level of accuracy


  • Online Banking and Payments. Proficiently navigate online banking platforms to execute transactions


  • Facilitate CHAPS / BACS payments as required and monitor incoming transfers closely to ensure seamless financial operations


 

Qualifications and skills:

 



  • Prior experience working in a legal financial setting, demonstrating familiarity with Solicitors' account rules and money laundering regulations


  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records


  • Proficiency in using online banking platforms for transactions and transfers


  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet daily financial deadlines


  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal


  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team-oriented environment
