As the 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing 3rd line support, handling complex issues, and driving technical project design and documentation. About the Role:
As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise in providing 3rd line support to clients. You will handle complex issues escalated from the Service Team, provide technical guidance, and ensure the successful completion of projects. Your role will involve collaborating with colleagues and clients, managing priorities, and delivering high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provide 3rd line support as required, including on-site activities in your assigned region
Handle complex issues escalated from the Service Team and provide technical guidance and escalation when necessary
Drive technical project design and documentation, taking into account the unique requirements of each client
Participate in a rotating schedule for Out of Hours cover alongside other colleagues (very ad hoc calls)
Required skills:
Experience working client side for an MSP
Good account management experience
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients
Strong delegation and escalation abilities
Logical problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues efficiently
Efficient, well-organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively
Project management skills with the ability to update stakeholders and manage risk
Possession of a valid Full Driving Licence and own transport
Proficiency in the following technologies:
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
Microsoft Exchange (all supported versions)
Microsoft Active Directory
Virtualisation knowledge, including Hyper-V/XenServer/VMware
SAN knowledge, such as Open-e DSS/Dell EqualLogic/IBM DS Series or equivalent
Familiarity with network routing, phone systems, web servers, Office365, and Microsoft SQL is an advantage
Education:
Mathematics and English qualifications equivalent to GCSE C or above
Qualifications:
One or more of the following qualifications are valuable, and progress towards them will be considered:
Microsoft qualifications
Citrix CCP or CCE or equivalents
Cisco CCNA or equivalents
CompTIA qualifications
Salary £35k-£45k depending on experience
