- Logistics Coordinator
Are you interested in a dynamic role within the logistics industry? We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our client’s team on the outskirts of East Grinstead. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of arranging cargo transportation, including coordination with international partners and ensuring efficient delivery of shipments to their destinations.
Salary £27,500
Monday to Friday
Must be driver due to rural location
Responsibilities:
Learn and understand all procedures and processes related to cargo transportation
Handle incoming calls, take messages, transfer calls, and eventually respond to queries
Familiarise yourself with shipping terminology, airline codes, and customs regulations
Create quotes based on pre-set templates for transportation requests received
Plan transportation arrangements, including bookings, checking destination requirements, completing necessary paperwork, and arranging customs formalities
Coordinate any additional requests, such as special packaging, insurance, or tracking services
Ensure all paperwork, including invoices and customs documentation, is completed accurately and on time
Maintain direct communication with clients throughout the process, providing support and addressing their concerns
Update the shared calendar with relevant appointments and tasks
Update Excel spreadsheets with shipment summaries and tracking information
Create sales invoices on our accounts system and ensure timely payment
Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in shipping procedures
Collaborate with international partners to ensure smooth transit and delivery of shipments
Address and resolve any issues or delays that may occur during the transportation process
Requirements:
Fluency in English and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable using Microsoft 365 Outlook for emails, shared calendars, Excel, Word, and OneDrive/SharePoint filing systems
Prior experience in logistics, specifically in cargo transportation, is highly desirable
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on following procedures and complying with regulations
Willingness to ask questions, conduct research, and stay updated on changing rules and regulations
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
Ability to adapt and think quickly when unexpected situations arise
Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
