Lloyd Recruitment Services are seeking Heating - Service Engineers to join an expanding renewable energy company in Surrey.
Working as part of the service department, the Service Engineer services, maintains, fault find and fixes issues with Heat Pumps, Solar (PV and Thermal) systems, and the associated equipment installed (jobs lists are distributed by the Service Administrators)
Duties include:
Understand, identify and solve issues on installed systems.
Conduct routine service and maintenance visits for installed systems, ensuring efficiency is optimised.
Attend breakdowns to investigate and do fault finding.
Conduct initial inspections of systems when arranged by the service administrator.
Conduct plumbing and electrical repair/remedial work onsite when necessary to resolve any issues.
Identify manufacturers faults on installed systems and report back to the office for warranty claims. Ensure faulty parts are labelled and brought back to the office.
Have a positive attitude towards colleagues, clients, manufacturers and suppliers at all times.
Ensures that all tools, equipment and parts needed for a job are available on site.
Ensure that van stock is maintained, replacing stock when needed.
Leave site clean and tidy, removing any rubbish.
Leave the system running in a safe state, so the system doesn’t cause damage (leaks etc.) to the client’s property.
Test work and check system is operating prior to departure from site.
Complete and return visit paperwork; with details of work completed, issues, further work/action required, material used/required.
Prepare written reports on findings, forwarding via email to the office when necessary.
Provide out-of-hour (OOH) support to clients in line with the agreed rota, attending sites OOH when an emergency demands a visit.
Keep up to date with the relevant industry standards.
Keep up to date with manufacturers installation, service and maintenance requirements.
The person in this role needs to be approachable, helpful, polite, conscientious and diligent. The success of the role will be measured on:
Number of breakdowns.
Number of return visits for the same or associated issues.
Satisfied clients.
Ownership of problems through to solutions.
Feedback from work colleagues.
Good relationships with partners and manufacturers.
Please note that works and contracts will be mainly located throughout the Surrey / South East region and be day jobs, however, due to some projects and their size/duration, it may be necessary to accommodate occasional overnight stays from time to time.
