Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a leading business based in the East Grinstead area who are currently in search of a Commercial Analyst to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
Role overview:
Our client is seeking an inquisitive, analytically minded individual to provide high quality analysis, insight and recommendations relating to all key products and services within the Company’s portfolio. Reporting into the Lead Commercial Analyst, this newly created position will support the creation of a new improved ‘customer lifetime value model’ which will enable the Company to better serve its customers and develop a better proposition. The successful candidate will regularly engage with senior management from across the Company and will work with different business areas to further develop our proposition for their customers.
The successful candidate will have an analytical background and excel with numerical analysis, using advanced BI tools and observational research.
Key tasks / accountabilities:
Analyse and aggregate large volumes of performance data from core company products and services into a holistic membership lifetime value model that demonstrates the financial value of each member, apportioned across core products and services
Understand and potentially enhance the existing membership segmentation model and report upon the changing lifetime values of different member segments
Utilising the membership lifetime data, demonstrate product penetration levels and opportunities for growth
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders within the Commercial and Marketing departments and Product Management teams in identifying opportunities to improve performance
Support in delivering accurate and timely Management Information (MI) performance reporting to the appropriate level of detail. Regarding the product, this would include volumes of new customer joining, existing customers renewing, leavers and cancellations, split by outfit type etc
Analyse commercial opportunities in an effective, efficient and timely manner, utilising various data sources (numerical and non-numerical), leading to valuable insight and recommendation
Model commercial scenarios using technical Excel/Google Sheet/Tableau skills to help build the most appropriate business case
Identify customer trends and buying behaviours and apply findings for future product and price developments
Conduct market and competitor analysis
Present findings and performance levels in a cohesive, easy to understand manner (written, visual and verbal presentations will be required)
Maintain a central database of common reports and maintain clearly constructed processes accessible to other stakeholders
Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the entire organisation
Essential skills & experience required:
Highly numerate and confident analysing and interpreting numerical data with excellent attention to detail
Understand standard financial and commercial terminology, calculations and performance drivers
Excellent technical analytical skills (google sheets, excel etc.) including experience working with, transforming and/or combining multiple data sets
Possesses strong intellectual integrity. Critical thinking and problem solving
Beneficial to have a good understanding of portfolio analysis and management as well as customer database segmentation approaches
Good communication skills (verbal & written) and a confident presenter
Self-motivated, proactive and able to think logically, objectively and creatively
Comfortable working under pressure and on multiple initiatives simultaneously
Confidence to challenge and be challenged in a fast-paced environment
Results driven with good time management, planning and organisational skills
Commitment and enthusiasm: must be highly productive and willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to do what it takes to get the job done (occasionally being required to put extra work in to achieve results)
Team player able to work within a multidisciplinary team
Relevant hands-on experience as Commercial Analyst
Experience of working within a multi-product portfolio organisation would be beneficial
Technical experience:
Experience of working with Tableau reporting or similar Business Intelligence tools
Advanced Excel/Google sheets skills will need to be demonstrated
Experienced with Microsoft Office / Google suite of applications
Experience in statistical analysis including propensity modelling and descriptive skills
Comfortable working with large data sets
Knowledge of marketing, finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development
Understanding the budgeting process would be beneficial
Experienced in using Google Analytics would be beneficial
Educated to an A-level or Degree level or equivalent
