Anti-Money Laundering Assistant



** £23,000 ** Quarterly Bonus ** 35 hours per week **



Our client is looking for a Financial Crime AML Officer to join their Financial Crime Team to assist in the review, investigation, elimination and escalation of Customer Screening Alerts.



The main purpose of the role is to review, investigate and report potential money laundering and terrorist financing concerns. Also, to consider and recommend ways to improve our financial crime prevention measures and increase staff awareness of indicators of potential money laundering / terrorist financing.



The job holder will also support their Financial Crime Fraud colleagues and the Financial Crime Manager where required.



Main Responsibilities:



  • Identify and investigate potential matches and escalate confirmed matches within agreed service levels


  • Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) file builds


  • Update and maintain the PEP and High-Risk registers


  • Complete Dow Jones checks where required


  • Support and assist Financial Crime Manager, where required


  • Submit Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) for any money laundering / terrorist financing concerns identified




Essential Skills:



  • Knowledge of UK Regulatory Framework and requirements, particularly relating to Money Laundering and terrorist financing


  • Demonstrates ability to build commitment to change


  • A high level of accuracy


  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills


  • A decisive and inquisitive manner


  • Strong PC skills across various applications


  • Planning and organising skills


  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
