** Monday to Friday ** 8-5pm ** 28 days holiday including Bank Holiday **
** Parking onsite ** Office based role **
Our client is a rapidly expanding mechanical and electrical firm situated in Redhill Surrey, that serves London, the Home Counties and further into the South East area
With recent expansion and turnover, they have seen the need to expand their present buying department, to ensure that current standards are maintained during these exciting times.
You’ll be working alongside the senior Buyer, receiving on the job training and encouraged to develop your experience and career in Buying.
The team is exclusively responsible for ensuring that the necessary materials are on-site at the appropriate times in order to maximise productivity.
Duties:
Purchase materials, goods, and services from a variety of suppliers
To provide general support and administrative assistance in procurement activities
Source materials and negotiate the best price with suppliers
Input orders onto purchasing system, and input the information into other platforms detailing lead times, delivery times etc.
Ensure efficient and professional impression of the business externally
Have regular correspondence with suppliers in regards to order confirmations to ensure timely deliveries and be solution orientated when issues occur
Support negotiations & work closely with supply chain partners to ensure prices are accurate and as per agreed terms
Communicating with Site team and ensuring they are aware of the delivery discrepancies, lead times etc.
Assist with contribution to the Procurement Schedule that identifies what Materials and Subcontractors are required for the project and assist with identifying timescales for placement of orders to meet project programme
Issue of material enquiries, and assist with collating comparisons for quotations received
Assist in the identification of the best supplier’s quotation against the tender allowances, reputation, and capability to deliver
Expediting material orders when escalated from site
The ideal candidate will have:
A structured approach to work, with the ability to plan and prioritise your workload to support and protect the wider business.
You’ll be Excel proficient and confident navigating data to interpret and analyse different reports, as well as inserting information into tracking sheets
Have good negotiation skills
Being pro-active and the ability to plan and prioritise workload
The ability to demonstrate initiative and working at pace
Strong communicational skills and the ability to build strong relationships
Be computer literate and have the ability to run multiple programmes at one time
Knowledge of the construction industry and/or materials used would be beneficial
