We have a fabulous Financial Accountant opportunity available, to work within a vibrant and rapidly growing business.
You will develop and enhance the control environment of the business, with a focus on documenting technical accounting practice and statutory compliance.
Duties:
Take part in the analytical review of month end figures for allocated sites
Identify areas for improvement in the reporting process and work with the Financial Controller to develop and implement changes
Assist with monthly group reporting deliverables and board pack preparation including KPI tracking and trend analysis
Work closely with the existing Management Accountant on accounts payable and receivables process design; developing enhancements to processes for invoicing, purchase order raising, payment runs, ad hoc payments etc.
Assist with the statutory reporting process where required including half and full year group reporting and external audit deliverables. Facilitate the preparation of the statutory accounts, and maintain audit compliant workpapers and technical accounting papers on selected accounts or areas
Support the Financial Controller and other Finance Team members with the preparation of ad hoc commercial analysis
Assist with relevant financial compliance activities such as VAT or CT returns
Assist with identifying opportunities to improve all business processes, procedures and accounting policies to strengthen and maintain the internal control environment so that it keeps pace with the company’s significant growth both organically and through acquisition
Be proactive in seeking out an understanding of how the business operates and the key business drivers to help add value and insight to work delivered
Help drive a culture of efficiency, high accuracy and timely delivery in everything that Finance does
Be proactive in driving career development, be active in the appraisal process and be open to coaching
Keep up to date with accounting standards to ensure compliance
We are looking for an individual who is a qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) as well as:
Strong understanding of month end procedures, reconciliations etc
Advanced Excel skills and accounts system administration
Experience in producing, timely, high-quality management and statutory accounts
Flexibility to travel regularly to visit company sites, attend meetings etc.
