Workshop Manager



** Mon-Fri 8.30-5.30 ** Sat 8.30-12.30 (1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota) **Parking Available **



Our client is at a very exciting time of expansion, and in line with the strategic directions planned, they will be growing in numbers during 2022.



To enable the first stage of the plans to take place, the current Workshop Manager is moving into a more strategic post within the business, so we are on the lookout for a new Manager to join and help take it to the next level.



The ideal candidate will be able to successfully balance activity in the Workshop, with relationship building of the expanding team of technicians – recognising areas of development and training to bring out the best in everyone.



Role:



  • Managing the employees on a daily basis.


  • Supervising all vehicles entering and exiting the workshop, as well as giving daily work schedules to workshop personnel.


  • Work with the Office Manager and the rest of the team to ensure that all departments run smoothly.


  • Maintaining the 'TechMan' database and ensuring that it is used effectively to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.


  • Ensuring that workshop capacity is effectively utilised. Internal booking system is used to manage the calendar.


  • Overseeing workshop workers, including conducting appraisals and personal development plans, as well as monitoring performance and discipline. Working with the Office Manager to ensure that the proper HR processes are followed.


  • All workshop health and safety procedures are managed, ensuring that work is completed safely.


  • Obtaining and maintaining appropriate records for parts and spares.


  • Meeting client deadlines and controlling labour/material costs to preserve the gross profit margin.


  • Maintaining the professional image of the business at all times and encouraging individuals to reach their potential.
