- Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with a leading events organisation based in Haywards Heath who are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper.
The role:
To be responsible for maintaining the accounting records and financial systems of the company in line with agreed policy and procedures in order for the monthly management accounts to be produced accurately and in a timely manner for the management team.
Main responsibilities:
Using Sage Line 50 software to maintain: Month end reconciliations, Preparation and submission of VAT returns, Extraction of the standard management reports, The cash book, Purchase ledger, Sales ledger, Journals
Reconcile monthly credit card statements and receipts, allocating individual payments on SAGE
Provide SAGE project reports to individual managers as required
Ensure cash income is deposited and bank statements reconciled on a weekly basis
Arrange for weekly banking of cash income and reconciling petty cash
Extract data from online booking system
Ensure transactions are processed only after being coded and authorised correctly - in line with organisational financial procedures and ensuring all transactions are recorded with both nominal and department codes
Arrange for sufficient cash to be transferred to and from bank account in order to meet day-to-day transactions in conjunction with line manager
Maintain records of work undertaken in electronic and hard copy form at a level which meets the needs of external auditors
Act as a counter signatory for online banking
Before processing, ensure payments have been authorisedappropriately and income has been allocated correctly
Oversee the work outsourced to the payroll agency and record payroll of hours worked by casual staff
Prepare monthly payroll, pension and HMRC payments
Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate
Liaise with staff and suppliers as appropriate
Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times throughout all duties and responsibilities
Undertake relevant training and professional development to fulfil all aspects of the role
Responsible for the ticket gates at the four main events
NB: This person must have strong working knowledge of Sage 50 to be considered
UK driving licence /car owner - Essential
Salary up to £30K - £32K DOE + £2K bonus for company events (details available) and excellent company benefits
