- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a highly reputable organisation based in East Grinstead. There is now a requirement for a Strategic Buyer to join the team on a fulltime permanent basis.
Purpose of job:
As the successful Strategic Buyer, you will lead the buying plan for product and services; building strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships in order to maximise value, by identifying and implementing cost opportunities across the business streams.

Responsibilities:
Perform complex purchasing activity including pricing, negotiating terms and contracts with suppliers
Working closely with key business stakeholders to develop sustainable sourcing strategies and implementation plans
Add value by close and extensive contract management
Manage competitive bidding process within areas of responsibility through effective planning, clear cost saving targets and clear communication strategy supported by purchasing intelligence, benchmarking and cost models
Support and implement the purchasing vision and direction strategy and have a continuous improvement mind-set
Reduce total delivered costs and optimise added value
Create strategic category sourcing plans for key areas of expenditurein conjunction with your stakeholders to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
Supporting the development of sourcing strategies identified
Stakeholder mapping, spend analysis, understanding of current and future demands
Supplier improvement and identification of cost reduction opportunities
Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans for supply chain and business continuity
Responsible for the selection of suppliers in line with sourcing process
Negotiate best practice terms with suppliers and robust supply agreements
Reduction and consolidation of the approved vendor list
Monitor and improve supplier's performance through robust SLA’s and KPI’s
Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of legal contract frameworks
Implement formal and legal contractual documentation, encompassing all corporate and government requirements
Ensures compliance with government laws, regulations and procurement policies and procedures
Willingness to take on new challenges and have a ‘continuous improvement’ mind set
Define and lead the supplier selection and deselection process, including new supplier introduction
Compose tender documents and requests for quotation and subsequent bid analysis and negotiation
Confidence to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and be an Ambassador for the company at all times
Ensure all contract and agreements are conducted swiftly and expediently
Essential skills & experience required:
Extensive commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering results and financial targets in a purchasing/procurement role
Demonstrate clear savings on all purchases processed
Confident in building strong strategic supplier relationships
Assertive, confident and able to quickly build a high level of personal and professional credibility within the business
Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst meeting tight deadlines
Able to work effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives
Able to analyse and evaluate data and information, using this to take appropriate actions
Issue of accurate reports in a timely and frequent manner
Team player and an able and competent decision maker
Proficient with Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Google Suite
Strong leadership skills
Willingness to take on challenges, find solutions and implement them
Highly motivated and focused with attention to detail
Desirable skills:
A degree/relevant commercial qualification/postgraduate qualification
MCIPS qualified
SAP Systems
Lean Six Sigma qualification
Knowledge of the new GDPR legislation
