- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a reputable business based in East Grinstead who are currently in search of a Marketing Executive to join their team on a full time permanent basis.
Role overview:
The Marketing Executive, Conferences will plan and implement effective and timely multi-media conference marketing campaigns to meet and exceed agreed direct marketing and delegate sales targets.
Key Success Criteria:
Successful delivery of direct marketing and delegate sales targets (revenue, quantity and quality of attendees)
All marketing is delivered in line with the conference objectives, in accordance with brand guidelines, on time and within the agreed marketing budget using conference industry best practice marketing techniques
Effective use of campaign analysis to ensure optimal channel selection and flexible response to achieve targets
Be a key part of both the Events and Marketing teams, taking initiative for coming up with great ideas to grow event delegate revenues
Key duties:
Campaign Planning:
Receive a briefing from the Event Producer to understand the value proposition and target audience
Research and analyse key competitor events
Analyse the performance of previous relevant conference campaigns
Produce a marketing plan, following conference industry best practice marketing techniques, detailing event KPIs and outlining how the marketing activity will deliver them. Present the marketing plan to all relevant event stakeholders
Develop a marketing comms plan for each event, ensuring optimum lead times for each element of the campaign
Produce a proposed allocation of marketing spend, based on the allotted marketing budget
Prospect Data Selection and Management:
Work with the Data Team to select relevant prospect data from the company marketing databases
Map the data received from the data team against the brief and identify data gaps
Seek new sources of prospect data for list research and work with agencies to build these – ensuring alignment with the wider brand data strategy
Ensure that prospect lists are targeted and a balanced reflection of the target audience profile
Ensure prospect lists are large enough to deliver the required delegate bookings – based on analysis of previous lead source conversion rates
Partnerships:
Identify 3rd party organisations with whom contra partnerships may be beneficial
Approach and negotiate beneficial partnership terms with key partners
Work with Heads of Brand Marketing to coordinate brand-wide agreements where appropriate
Delegate Sales:
Ensure timely provision of relevant leads to the delegate sales team
Work with the Conference Producer to ensure delegate sales teams are given a thorough brief
Use lead dashboards to monitor and react to campaign performance
Campaign Delivery:
Work with the Events team to ensure the creation of event websites, in accordance with brand guidelines
Write and proof-read marketing copy
Work with external designers to create print and digital assets to run across internal and external websites, social and PPC campaigns, in accordance with brand guidelines
Deliver campaigns on time as per the marketing comms plan
Update the marketing comms plan at least once a week
Update marketing budget weekly and ensure all campaigns are delivered within the pre-agreed budget
Work closely with the Conference Producers and Director of Conferences to assess success and pivot plans accordingly
Campaign Analysis:
Track the performance of all marketing channels on an ongoing basis, including interpretation of campaign results and proactively reviewing tactical plans
Prepare a full post-event marketing report – including conversions/ROI by channel and delegate audience breakdown - within 4 weeks of each event
Other:
Work with colleagues from the central marketing team on a Marketing Best Practise Champion project as directed by the Head of Marketing
Communicate marketing activity in meetings with the internal event project team
Attend events and assist the Events team on-site as required
Any other duty as appropriate to post holder’s skills and experience as required
