- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a reputable business based in East Grinstead who are currently looking for an Industry Business Development Manager to join their team on a fulltime permanent basis.
Purpose of job:
This role provides for business development and leadership across the sector and includes Dealer, Manufacturers and Affiliate Channel Marketing (B2B & B2B2C) responsibilities. It is key to driving new customers, retaining existing customer value and additional revenue streams.
Specifically, responsible for identifying, developing and managing the Company’s B2B Industry, Dealer and Affiliate strategy. This includes building and developing relationships within the industry and allied sectors (such as accessory and activity providers) encouraging them to buy into or engage with Company products and services.
Responsible for the planning, organisation and implementation of product and services in accordance with Company policy and annual business objectives, including annual revenue targets.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
Develop and implement Manufacturer, Dealer and Affiliate Channel propositions to ensure that they provide an effective membership acquisition source, and profitable revenue opportunity that enhances and promotes the Company’s reputation in the wider industry
Manage training courses and venues so that they meet customer requirements and maintain profitable revenue return. Source and negotiate new venues as appropriate and in line with market growth. Develop new relevant training courses. Widen the appeal of training courses into other sectors
Manage the Company’s annual awards schedule ensuring that the Company’s pre-eminent position within the industry is maintained and enhanced. Review and recommend new Award sponsorship opportunities in existing and adjacent related markets
Identify and develop sponsorship opportunities that leverage the Company’s assets
Submit annual consolidated budget reports and proposals and ensure control of approved expenditure within agreed budgets. Source and direct the use of voluntary assistance support in the organisation in support of B2B strategy
Attend and report at Events Committee meetings in relation to Awards and Training Courses as required
How are most problems solved?
Review and analysis of events, stakeholders/participants, dealer and industry relations and internal performance measurements, which take into account business priorities, resource availability and effective supplier relations. Emphasis is on cross-functional team work to ensure decisions are well informed and can be implemented
Close liaison with commercial and strategic partners ensuring that all contracts are entered into in the best interests of the Company
What decisions are made by this job?
How best to continually optimise the Company’s event schedule and industry relations to maximise customer acquisition, retention, satisfaction and financial performance
Day to day decisions emerging from the results/impacts of events and industry relations on internal and external stakeholders, including initiative and willingness to influence other areas.
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
Degree preferable, but not mandatory
Professional commercial qualification or suitable experience is desirable
Proven Business Development relationship management in an intermediated/dealer/ partner environment ideally B2B or B2B2C
Proven product/service revenue generation, including sponsorship and annual budget planning
Ability to create strong relationships with external business partners, sponsors and suppliers
Exposure to and understanding of contract management
Strong written and oral communication skills
Commercially astute
Excellent relationship management skills
Comfortable working as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritise effectively to ensure deadlines are met
Positive and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
