Location:Redhill
Duration:On-going
Salary:45,000 p/rata
The Payroll Project Manager will be the Subject Matter Expert and main internal resource for a payroll transformation project consisting of 3 payroll migrations to an ADP managed service, one payroll closure and transfer of employees to other payrolls and an overhaul of all payroll processes and controls to ensure that we are wholly compliant.
Establishment of a new payroll service charter to provide an enhanced colleague experience.
This role will report into the Head of People Services and will interface with the 5 existing payroll team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with the ADP project team to manage the 3 payroll migrations; gathering business rules for payment processing, ensuring that these rules are appropriate, checking the status of existing payroll data and making sure this is in good order ready for data migration.
Collaborate with the Head of People Services to agree the most suitable timetable for the order of payroll migrations.
Managing the parallel runs and error trapping process as the migrations take place.
Co-ordinate the transfer of existing employees from one existing payroll to two others and the subsequent closure of this payroll.
Review existing payroll controls and processes and make recommendations on the most appropriate ones to adopt going forward.
Create a payroll controls framework including drafting processes, proposing authority levels and outlining appropriate audit checks.
Oversee any payroll system upgrades and integrations with the HR systems to ensure the smooth data flow of information in and out of payroll.
Coach existing payroll team where there are knowledge gaps on new ways of working.
Maintain accurate records of all changes made to payroll and prepare reports as necessary.
Collaborate with People Service team (HR and payroll colleagues), People Project Manager, People Transformation Manager and BU finance teams
ABOUT YOU
Previous experience of managing payroll transformation, carrying out process and control reviews and managing payroll migrations.
Previous experience of both Sage and ADP payroll software preferred
Ability to manage multiple demands on time and to prioritise workload around a busy payroll function.
Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
A team player who is able to work under pressure and under own initiative, meeting monthly deadlines.
Excellent knowledge of payroll procedures, controls and legislation
Excellent Excel skills
Strong stakeholder management skills – with both internal and external stakeholders
Risk management and reporting
Ideally MS project and project management skills
An understanding of pensions, in particular auto-enrolment is essential.
Professional payroll certification (e.g. CPP, CPM)
