- We are currently looking to recruit a Part Time Credit Controller, for a client based in SE16 (Bermondsey).
You’ll have gained some experience in a Credit Control / Accounts Receivable role before, and looking to join a small Finance team of 4 others.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will focus on ensuring all customers pay their accounts on a timely basis, whilst also supporting the Sales team in keeping strong customer relationships, and also occasionally assist on Accounts Payable tasks.
Key responsibilities:
Opening new accounts after verifying set-up on all systems, gathering guarantees and assessing risk
Maintaining and regularly reviewing customer accounts
Providing customers with the right information in a timely manner to support their payment process (Statements, invoicing, reports, copies, reprints etc)
Establishing a win-win relationship with customers in line with the company culture
Carrying out day-to-day collection activities (including reconciliations, payment allocations etc.) to a high quality in a timely and efficient manner
Tracking and concise reporting of overdue and aged debts
Investigating into aged debts, seeking understanding of the reason for late payment
Taking corrective action within agreed timeframes and in line with the sales strategy
Assist Accounts Payable Coordinator when necessary
To be successful you will need:
Previous experience in a similar role e.g. dealing with invoices, either as a credit controller or in a purchasing position where you have had to negotiate and influence
Confident communication skills (oral and written), necessary to be able to talk to customers and employees
Strong attention to detail, accurate data and numerical entry skills
Knowledge of financial systems and intermediate Excel skills
Able to multi-task and manage workload
The ability to work autonomously, but still be a team player
Experience using Xero is desired but not necessary
