Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with a leading company who have an opportunity for a Conveyancing Paralegal to join their busy Property team, working in their friendly office in East Grinstead. 
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary of £20’000 - £25’000
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays). This rises by 1 day each year to a maximum of 33 days (including bank holidays)

Main responsibilities of Conveyancing Paralegal: 
  • Giving estimates of costs to new clients, in the absence or in the direction of Partner or Legal Adviser
  • Taking initial instructions for Sale and Purchase
  • Typing correspondence, photocopying for self, Partners and Legal Advisers as requested
  • Dealing with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and solicitors by telephone, post, e-mail or in person, as necessary, at every stage of the transaction and running a file as the owner of the file.
  • Dealing with pre exchange of contract work that has been delegated by a Legal Adviser to you using the Case Management System
  • Dealing with post-exchange work and registrations and post-completion work
  • Maintaining your own and Partners’ and Legal Advisers’ diaries and dealing with matters arising, in liaison with the Partner/Legal Adviser
  • Able to cover property work of Partner/Legal Adviser in their absence
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and client’s documentation and information
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development
  • To provide support to other secretaries and Legal Adviser in the Property department as may be required
  • To undertake other clerical and property assistant and administrative duties as may reasonably be required from time to time
Knowledge & skills required to be the successful Conveyancing Paralegal
  • Efficient and well organised, with good control of diary systems and competent in the firm’s computer facilities
  • Excellent word-processing and audio-typing skills
  • Good knowledge of property processes and procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Pleasant and positive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to evaluate a situation in the face of time constraints and react appropriately to any situation
