EVENTS MANGER
Lloyd Recruitment Services is working with a leading Media and Events company based in the Croydon area. They are looking to recruit an Events Manager to work across a leading portfolio of awards and conferences and ensure smooth running of these annual events.
This role will include management and implementation of new Awards programmes, conferences and launch events.
Responsibilities:
To work closely with the team of two other Event Managers and one Event Coordinator, reporting to the Head of Operations and Event Development Director as directed, especially in relation to the following:
Full life-cycle event management of agreed events
To assist the team to generate entries for awards or delegates by close and regular liaison with key industry representatives
Populating event websites and updating on an on-going basis as necessary
Setting up the databases, growing them and maintaining them
Produce and follow time lines and action plans for each event
Table sales data basing and seating plan management for all awards events (c.400-1200 people)
Maintaining judges’ database for awards, and inviting for judging sessions
Planning logistics of the awards’ judging sessions and running on-site operations
Attend face to face meetings and events/trade shows as required
To assist the team in sourcing, liaising and booking suitable venues
To issue sponsor contracts and packs where required, liaising with sponsors throughout the year
To liaise with the production company in order to put together set and design of visual presentation
To liaise with external entertainment agencies in relation to presenters attending events, as and when required
To deal with correspondence in relation to events as required
To work closely with the Marketing team to prepare and proof all digital and printed promotional materials
To liaise with hotel/venues as required
To order trophies with appropriate engraving in timely manner
To attend events to ensure all runs in accordance with the running order implemented
To book photographer, videographer, external suppliers and toastmaster where required
To maintain accurate databases at all times
Budgetary management
Any other ad hoc activities deemed necessary by the Head of Operations and/or Event Development Director
Escalation of issues to senior management as necessary and appropriate
To ensure that the Company processes and policies in relation to revenue generation and representation in the Company accounts is accurate and appropriate in all circumstances, referring matters to the Finance Director, Financial Controller, Commercial Finance Manager and relevant CEO, Direct
Personal Specifications and Competencies:
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong influencing skills with the ability to influence and negotiate for time and resources at all levels
Evidence of success in building and managing relationships with high level stakeholders
Evidence of success in prioritising and dealing with high level sensitive information and enquiries and taking appropriate action on a regular basis
Organisational awareness with the ability to operate with confidence and credibility across all functions of the Company
IT, Administrative and Organisational Skills:
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience of the Evessio platform an advantage but not essential
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and to demonstrate an effective and resourceful approach to addressing issues
Applicants must have a strong background within events, ideally from a B2B conference/awards.
Salary up to £30,000 + 3k bonus
