- Lloyd Recruitment Services are delighted to be collaborating with a leading accountancy practice in East Grinstead, in the search for a skilled Bookkeeper on a part-time basis. Joining an independent firm of Chartered Accountants, the successful candidate will play a vital role in offering top-notch accounts and bookkeeping advice to a diverse clientele.
Key Objectives of the Role
As a crucial member of our clients growing team, the Bookkeeper will work closely with the Company Director and a Client Accountant to build and develop client relationships. Responsibilities include the preparation of statutory year-end accounts for various clients, handling personal tax information, and preparing draft personal tax returns. Awareness and positivity towards upcoming Making Tax Digital changes are essential.
£29k - £35k pro rata
East Grinstead
Part-time hours 22 - 28 hrs per week - option to work across 3-5 days

Qualifications and experience:
Ideally you will have 2-5 years of Practice experience in an Accounts role, preferably with the AAT qualification, however we will consider candidates who have strong bookkeeping experience outside of practice .
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities are essential. Experience with cloud-based accounting software, including Sage, Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of statutory accounts from both complete and incomplete records
Business tax computations and completion of personal tax returns
Oversight and submission of quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns
Management of client queries related to VAT, CIS, and Personal Tax
Maintenance of records and management information
Oversight of bookkeeping tasks for junior colleagues
Set-up and onboarding of new clients with support from admin staff
Attendance at relevant training seminars
Drafting regulation-based email updates to the client community
Management of financial systems including Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, and SAGE
Completion of general office duties
Salary £29k - £35k pro rata
