The role:
As a 1st Line Technical Support Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team, responsible for handling 1st line technical support queries via telephone and remote tools. Working within Service Level Agreements, strong communication skills are essential, both when dealing with customers and within the team.
Our clients fast-paced environment offers excellent opportunities for learning new technologies and expanding your skills. You should have troubleshooting knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and basic networking skills, including TCP/IP and DNS. Desirable skills include Office 365 Administration, general networking knowledge, and familiarity with printers.

Enhanced holiday entitlement based on length of service. 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 25 days
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week - shift hours of work include Early Shift (08:00 – 16:30), Mid Shift (09:00 – 17:30), and Late Shift (10:00 – 18:30)
Responsibilities will include:
Providing 1st Line support for Windows Desktops, Laptops, hardware, and software
Offering 1st Line support for Office 365 Administration (User Accounts, Licenses, Permissions, Apps)
Writing and updating user and system documentation
Handling SLA-based technical support calls
Key skills of the Support Engineer:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrating a professional, respectful, and proactive approach
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Multitasking capabilities
Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving
Attention to detail
Support for Microsoft Windows Desktops, Laptops, Hardware, and Software
Basic Networking including TCP/IP and DNS to support the desktop environment
Basic Server Administration (User Account Administrations and Permissions)
Effective use of the Helpdesk system and keeping support ticket information up to date
Desirable (but not essential) skills:
An understanding of Microsoft SharePoint
An understanding of Microsoft Servers
Familiarity with Anti-Virus and Backup Software
