Our client is a global, multicultural organisation, and they are looking for a dynamic individual to fill this role.

About the Role

 



  • As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the company


  • Ensuring the completion of all day-to-day transactional activities for EU


  • Reconciling month-end and full group reporting for EU, maintaining strict control over Balance Sheet and P&L


  • Taking the lead on VAT and other tax returns across various entities, with support from the Financial Controller and external partners


  • Coordinating forecasting and budgeting for entities within the EU SSC


  • Assisting the Financial Controller in various aspects related to legal entities


 

Main Duties:

 



  • Complete month-end reporting for EU companies


  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of VAT and other tax returns for both UK and EU companies


  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all balances are substantiated as required by the Regional Controller


  • Conduct overhead reviews and analysis to optimise financial efficiency


  • Ensure that all day-to-day finance activities are completed in a timely fashion, working closely with colleagues across the business unit


  • Assist in generating the annual budget using system data alongside input from internal stakeholders


  • Act as the key point of contact with external auditors and assist with any queries raised during the audit process


  • Coordinate bi-annual stocktakes in collaboration with EU country managers and process necessary stock adjustments


  • Monitor and enhance the internal control environment, identifying and implementing process improvements


  • Seek efficiencies across all processes, utilising the ERP system to streamline operations


  • Undertake any other additional work, responsibilities, and duties as assigned by the Line Manager


 

Personal Specification – Essential:

 



  • Qualified ACCA or CIMA, or finalist, or QBE


  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skill


  • Proficiency in IT hardware and software


  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and numerate


  • Flexible approach to work with excellent communication skills


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to contribute in various areas


  • Advanced experience with ERP systems


  • Team player


  • Customer-focused


  • Results-oriented


  • Problem-solving skills


  • Resilience and adaptability


 

Desirable:

 



  • Knowledge of ERP software, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365, AX12


  • Experience in process improvement and transformation


  • Experience in a project-based selling business environment
