Introduction

The ideal candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and external accountants, taking responsibility for the company’s financial processes and activities. Providing valuable financial advice and recommendations to bolster the group’s investment and cash management initiatives.
Key role & responsibilities
Manage and coordinate accounts payable and receivable activities via the company sales and purchase ledger processes
Undertake bank reconciliations at required frequency to ensure that the company accounts are up to date and accurately reflect the current financial position
To complete all quarterly VAT returns and liaise with external accountants in relation to Corporation Tax and other Tax matters as required
To produce the annual statutory accounts, ensuring that all necessary deadlines are achieved
Provision of reports summarising the company’s financial performance, including a brief executive summary and guidance. Including but not limited to; profit & loss, budget performance / tracking, works in progress, recurring revenue performance and debtors
Liaison and management of outsourced payroll service, ensuring changes are captured and communicated promptly
Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations including the UK Accounting Standards following guidance and best practice from the external accountants
Maintaining records according to the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities in collaboration with the external accountants
To own the P&Ls and Balance Sheets of the parent company as well as smaller investment and subsidiary entities
Lead and manage the Intercompany recharges and billing processes
Review of schedules: bank direct debits & standing orders
Cost reporting and preparation
Production of monthly management accounts supported by the external accountants
Monthly report packs for senior management meetings
Prepare the monthly management accounts
Manage and coordinate the company’s month end, quarter end, and year end processes, liaising with relevant personnel to ensure deadlines are achieved
Management of the company purchase ledger process, ensuring bills are paid within agreed terms
Day to day management of the company’s bank accounts
Production of annual P11D reports and subsequent Class 1A payments
Liaison with the Operations Manager to ensure the timely renewal of company insurances
Filing of company confirmation statements (annual returns)
Control and posting of company credit card and expenses expenditure
Experience:
Experience as a Finance Manager or Management Accountant or Company Accountant
Proficient in the use of QuickBooks bookkeeping software
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
Qualification
Ideal:
Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA or CIPFA) or related degree level qualification
