Previous experience in training management / co-ordination or strong administration experience is desirable for this interesting and evolving role:

Training (70-80%):

  • Updating procedures and maintaining review processes and tracking

  • Liaising with managers for new starters, assigning correct training needs and mapping out to joiner and manager alike

  • Monitor and promote good training compliance for the division, maintaining feedback on assigned training and annual training reviews.

  • Get involved in the improvement of "learning" - missing training, video guides, interactive training as well as paper and electronic capture details.

  • Review the US programme and identify any gaps for UK equivalent.

  • Build a more accurate way of mapping the US and UK differences - especially useful for uploading new materials.

  • Ongoing tracking and support of the UK programme

  • Maintain the database for costs, contacts, attendees, trainers, etc..

  • Coordinating with sponsor groups, for external soft skills training

  • Liaise with external training companies (scientific and non) throughout processes.

  • Track and maintain the departments training budget activities.

Safety Compliance (20-30% TBD)

  • Receive training to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their Safety Software

  • Develop pool of incident assessors and investigators, support assignment and tracking of investigators for future use

  • Support Safety Team to trend incidents and root causes and to look at effectiveness of actions or areas for focus

  • Work with SME’s to ensure both contemporary and relevant task based, COSHH and manual handling risk assessments are upheld

  • Support scheduling, action capture, feedback and continuous improvement of their safety inspection process

  • Track the training budget activities

Essentials for the role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Project management skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines, identifying problems and relevant issues in non-routine situations in a structured environment

  • Proactive and demonstrate ability to multi-task, prioritise work and manage own time, referring only new or unusual problems to manager

  • To be able to complete recurring assignments independently, selecting the most appropriate method or approach to do so within prescribed limits of authority

  • Highly approachable with the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team acting as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Good interpersonal skills required to develop effective relationships at all levels

  • Enthusiastic, helpful, motivated, reliable and hard working

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Discretion and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
