Job Overview:
Being the main day to day point of contact for all matters relating to various GB owned and wider Global campaigns. Developing a good understanding of the business and maintaining regular communications with key stakeholders to ensure marketing is providing the right and targeted support to each division.
Primarily you’ll be focusing on the following areas:
Food and drink
Manufacturing
Services
Risk, Loss Management and Claims
Training Academy
GB Retail wide campaigns as defined in annual strategy
The Role:
Marketing Strategy:
Work with key stakeholders, especially business leaders, sales leaders and service/ product leaders to develop marketing plans that support business and revenue growth priorities
Collaborate with the relevant Industry teams to ensure Line of Business (LOB) assimilation and dissemination of industry intelligence and thought leadership.
Develop plans which focus on target clients, reflecting different segments, company size, different markets as well as buyer hubs
Provide informed advice and guidance to key stakeholders on the most appropriate marketing and communication programmes as well as advising on broader areas like research, competitor analysis, digital marketing (including social media), event marketing, including client training programmes, thought leadership and investment in 3rd party initiatives
Evaluate marketing campaigns to ensure that the activity is helping the company to achieve its sales goals. Use the activity to help guide and improve future marketing initiatives
Marketing Campaigns:
Oversee the development and implementation of marketing campaigns that support the execution of the agreed marketing strategy. Manage the successful execution of these activities including agreed KPIs to measure impact and effectiveness
Business Awareness:
Develop and maintain a good understanding of the full range of products, services and solutions that the designated LOB/Campaign offers to clients as well as the different markets and buyer hubs that exist. In addition, there should be an awareness and understanding of the broader business offerings, in particular the synergies that exist within the designated area
Awareness of the competitive environment and an understanding of how marketing strategy and plans are positioned within this to help differentiate our product offering
Identify linkages and opportunities to develop cross LOB and Segment marketing programmes that will support revenue and business synergies
Understand the importance of global connectivity for growth of the global specialisms and collaboration with Industry
Relationships:
Act as the primary day to day point of contact, communicate effectively with marketing and business stakeholders, provide strategic marketing advice, lead on planning discussions and take responsibility for the effective delivery of agreed plans .
Building relationships across the global marketing community, including marketing COEs to support their LOB
Work closely with sales colleagues delivering integrated marketing and sales activities that support lead generation and open up opportunities to have dialogue with clients
Develop good working relationships and foster collaboration with colleagues from across the marketing and communications function, including CoEs’ (Communications, PR, Digital, Events and Research/Analytics) to coordinate effectively and support the delivery of marketing programmes and activities. In addition, build solid working relationships with external suppliers such as design agencies, event contractors
Work with the other Industry, Segment and Geographic marketing teams to develop integrated marketing (as appropriate) as well as leveraging thought-leadership, research and other marketing initiatives
Financial management:
Contribute to the development of the marketing budget and manage costs to ensure planned expenditure is met including reporting and analysis of marketing effectiveness and impact
Other:
As required, effective management of marketing team members
Ensure marketing plans boost and support the brand
Support the overall operational governance and decision making processes, and demonstrate the values.
Any other duties commensurate with the role or level of responsibility
London-based with requirement to travel to other UK locations as required
Qualifications
Relevant B2B marketing experience is essential, ideally gained within professional or financial services organisation
Proven experience in marketing communications across a broad spectrum of offline and online media (e.g. print, direct mail, email marketing, web and social)
Proven track record in delivering digital marketing campaigns, using email marketing systems, social media and other digital channels
Experience using digital analytics to validate campaign direction and prove growth opportunities
Ability to work across geographies
Adaptable and quick learner with new marketing tools, systems and processes
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills and ability to juggle a large workload and prioritise work effectively
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to escalate issues or ask for help when required
Strong team player with good people skills and a proven track record of providing support to other team members and building collaborative relationships
Credibility to work with, and to influence, colleagues at all levels within the company
Desirable:
Experience of working within a consultancy/insurance environment would be an advantage.
Track record of executing creative campaigns
Ideally basic design / Adobe Creative Suite expertise
Experience of digital event execution
Ideally proven SEO expertise
Degree in Business with a concentration in marketing or equivalent
