Our client is looking for an experienced Business Travel Consultant to join their growing team.
Purpose of the role
As the Business Travel Consultant, you will provide effective customer service to ensure the needs of clients are consistently met and often exceeded.
The Business Travel Consultant will ensure the consistent provision of the highest level of professional service and personal attention to all corporate accounts.

Competitive salary of £28k
22 days holiday per year plus bank holidays rising to 27 days with long service
Hybrid working 3 days office 2 WFH
Monday to Friday role 9am – 5:30pm, 37.5 hour week

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Liaise and cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advise them appropriate destination, modes of transportations, travel dates, costs, and accommodation
Ensure that all clients have the best travel services available so that they get the best value for money
Ensure that the company achieves the necessary SLAs, delivering exceptional resolve to customer enquiries, meeting delivery times and inter-department service levels
Provide expert information and advice to all clients and assist them in making the most budget effective plans
Deal with occurring travel problems, complaints, or refunds
Be responsible for and have an overall awareness of accounts and how they are trading, raising any concerns with the Team Leaders and have a close working relationship with Account Managers
Continually review processes and identify ways in which aspects of the service experience could be enhanced
Encourage profit awareness and achievement of financial targets
Adhere to all internal company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standard of work is achieved and always maintained
Identify and raise issues with the Head of Operations and your counterparts in other departments
Ensure compliance with operating licenses and other trading industry standards
Use appropriate methods and interpersonal style to develop, motivate and guide others to successful results; holding people to account and lifting performance standards
Be proactive and responsible in identifying any training and development needs and ensuring that training is received via the appropriate method of addressing those needs
Be accountable for improving own performance and keeping skills in relation to technology and knowledge up to date
Ensure all training is recording appropriately
Contribute to the Group’s ethos of teamwork and co-operation by going the extra mile to help colleagues
Attend regular one-to-one reviews with the Team Leader
Safeguard the culture and entrepreneurial spirit of the Group, always ensuring that the company value’s their colleagues and customers
Personal attributes and job specific skills
Previous experience in a similar role in business travel
GDS experience (Galileo Smartpoint preferred)
