Lloyd Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well-established, market leader in the sustainable energy industry, who are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with managing small teams and is comfortable interacting with clients. They will also have extensive experience and be qualified to install and commission solar photovoltaic installations.
The role is to install and test the electrical works for principally PV but may include heat-pump systems to a prepared design.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of:
Mounting systems
Modules
DC/AC cabling
Inverters and connection to the distribution switchgear
Projects range from domestic installations to large commercial projects nationwide.
Duties of the role:
Once the installation is completed, you will be required to test and commission the AC/DC systems, confirming the system is safe and in working order, to industry standards.
Make sure all electrical work complies with current regulations and site-specific RAMS.
Conduct initial inspections of systems when arranged by the service administrator; understanding, identifying, and solving issues on installed systems.
Conducts routine service and maintenance visits to installed systems, ensuring efficiency is optimised.
Do repair and remedial work and be able to identify manufacturers faults to installed kit, reporting back to the service administrator for warranty claims.
Ensure that faulty parts are labelled and returned to the office to allow for warranty claims.
Communicate and assist on any electrical aspects of project designs and surveys.
Assist the team on larger National project as and when required.
Ensures that all tools, equipment and parts needed for a job are available on site.
Ensure that van stock is maintained, placing re-stocking orders as needed.
Leaves the site clean and tidy, removing any rubbish.
Leaves systems in a safe state, so as not to cause damage (leaks etc.) to client’s property.
Project and installation photos are logged and sent to the relevant personnel.
Completing all commissioning routines and tests for certification and sign off of projects.
Completes and returns visit paperwork with details of issues found, work completed, further action needed, materials used or needed.
Provide OOH support to clients in line with agreed rota, attending sites OOH when an emergency demands a visit.
Stay away for work when necessary.
Maintain good communications with clients, others in the department, other members of ISO staff and manufacturers.
Keep up to date with relevant industry standards.
Remain up to date with manufacturers installation, service, and maintenance requirements.
