- Lloyd Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting for one of long established clients, a leading UK financial services organisation, who seeks a Financial Operations Assistant to join their team. This role will cover a broad spectrum of responsibilities within the Finance function and will focus on the delivery of finance operations and production of month end reporting.

The client will support study towards ICAEW / ICAS / CIMA / ACCA professional qualifications.
Reporting into the Assistant Financial Accountant, the main responsibilities include supporting the day to day operations of the business while maintaining a strong financial control environment and providing excellent customer services to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Finance operations
Prepare daily bank reconciliations ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected in the system and that all reconciling items are promptly investigated
Approve loan payments and process refunds
Prepare weekly Accounts Payable files ensuring accurate account allocation
Prepare monthly direct debit files for collections
Continue to challenge all processes to increase productivity and drive efficiencies as appropriate
Reviewing Financial Operations procedures regularly and update as appropriate, adding new procedures where necessary
Reporting
Produce month end journals ensuring accuracy and maintain an audit trail
Build a strong understanding of the lending system and support change/improvements to MI produced from the system
Produce monthly and quarterly reporting to external parties including insurer reports
Enhancing reporting and proactively building the reputation of the Finance team
Providing ad hoc financial analysis
Business Unit Support
Develop and maintain good working relationships with other teams within the business
Support on key projects impacting the business
Skills & Experience
The client is open minded on the level of experience applicants possess, however they will be degree educated or professionally qualified to a respective level – ICAEW / ICAS / CIMA / ACCA. The client may consider applications from fresh graduates with relevant accounting degree, ideally with a minimum 2.1 classification and good A Level and GCSE grades.
The client will actively encourage and support professional studies so applicants must have the desire to study.
An intermediate knowledge of Excel and exposure to SAP could be advantageous.
An understanding of finance double entry, and any relevant accounts experience gained within the financial services industry is preferred, not essential.
