- Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with a successful and well-established company that are experiencing a period of growth. They are looking for an Engineering Manager to head up the New Product Development team.
The ideal candidate will lead, mentor and develop the UK NPD team whilst working collaboratively with other design and development teams within business.
As an Engineering Manager, you will actively manage the development of innovative new products for global customers and work with Product Management to define the product requirements and agree the business case and timelines to support definition of the product roadmap.
Develop processes and improve efficiencies to ensure on time delivery (to cost and quality) of NPD’s.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of new products in line with project objectives and EC road map ensuring on time, to cost and quality delivery
Develop technical strategies to enable long term product and project objectives to be met
Develop the employees and the processes to maximise the effectiveness of the team
Manage the local team and work with key stakeholders in other areas to ensure resource utilisation is optimised
Effectively work with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with the project brief
Lead a team of multi-skilled engineers providing mentoring, guidance and training when required
Evaluate and minimise risk utilising FMEA’s or other methodologies as appropriate
Follow company development procedures ensuring full documentation is completed for all projects
Develop cost and time plans for new projects and manage/monitor adherence to these plans putting mitigating actions in place when necessary
To work within the Company’s ISO Standards and procedures
To work within budgetary constraints, in a cost effective, diligent, organised and professional manner

Key skills and responsibilities:
Essential
Experienced Manager with a history of managing complex technical product developments in an NPD environment
Project Management in an agile and phase gate development process
DFM, DFMEA, verification and validation testing
Legislative standard and directive compliance
Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
Job knowledge & expertise

Desirable
Design for Manufacture in a flow line / lean manufacturing environment
Agile development processes
Some knowledge/experience of:
SW / FW and mechatronic development
SolidWorks
Manufacturing techniques including sheet metal fabrication, moulding, vacuum forming and casting
Salary of £55K - £70K DOE
