- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a leading engineering company in the Cambridge area who are looking to recruit for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team.
The role:
The primary function of this role is to design, develop and test software for the company’s IDS system and associated range of products. This will include working closely with the development, support and production teams and at times, customers.
The post holder will act in partnership with the Software Product Development Manager and Product Management to agree concepts, design and implementation, and is responsible for providing completed elements of software within agreed timescales and budgets.

Key responsibilities
Development and testing of software across a range of products and technologies
Proposing and evaluating new directions for products and technologies
Working with management to evaluate clients’ requirements
Code reviews and bug fixing
Adhering to coding guidelines and project working methods
Setting up and commissioning systems
Quality assurance testing
Liaison with management to update on task progress and project schedules.
Occasional travel may be required (UK and International)
Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrable experience of coding in C and C++ (essential)
Good knowledge of the Qt Framework (essential)
Windows and Linux development experience (essential)
Experience with networked systems (essential)
Experience with IEEE 802.1, IEEE 802.3, and TCP/IP protocol stack (essential)
Software design/architectural experience (essential)
Broadcast systems and product knowledge (highly desirable)
Implementation of broadcast standards such as SMPTE ST.2110 (desirable)
Experience with node.js and JavaScript (desirable)
Experience with HTML5, CSS3, SASS (desirable)
Experience with responsive web design (desirable)
Experience with Vue.JS, React or Angular (desirable)
Embedded programming experience (desirable)
Knowledge and other skills

Salary up to £50K plus excellent company benefits
Monday to Friday 37.5 hour week
25 days holiday plus bank hols
