- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a reputable organisation on the outskirts of Uckfield. There is currently a requirement for an NPD Technician to join the team on a full-time permanent basis.
As an NPD Technician you will support project delivery on time and budget, through prototype/ product build and process evaluation.
You will assist NPD team with tasks including:
Product build / rebuild and system packing as required
Supporting and monitor ongoing automated reliability testing and reporting
You will perform general warehouse support/ activity, sending and receiving goods for the site and maintaining an efficient and safe working environment
Key Responsibilities:
Build / strip and test mechanisms for NPD projects, exhibitions and customer trials
Prototype development – build prototypes and assess for ease of production assembly
Evaluate build instructions during pilot assembly
Assisting in product investigations, carrying out exploratory work
Involvement in product life testing, both current products and development product to ensure concepts and designs meet performance criteria, in line with the defined programs
Follow company development procedures ensuring full documentation is completed for all projects as required
Goods in / out point of contact and general warehouse activities
Booking in goods when received
Packaging and preparation of goods out
Any other duties for the company within the role holder’s capacity in accordance with their skills and capabilities
Person Specifications:
Experience of functional and reliability testing of electromechanical products
Good knowledge of other test methodologies, techniques
Basic fault finding to component level
Good problem-solving skills
Broad working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
Ability to work hands-on across a wide range of project simultaneously
Can demonstrate good organisational skills
Ability to produce technical reports to a good standard both in terms of technical content and presentation
Confident interpersonal and communication skills both written and spoken - Customer focussed
Knowledge of H&S standards and procedures
Ability to adhere to safety practices
Knowledge of 5S or other Lean tools/ activities
Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision and take direction for tasks from multiple individuals
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to show initiative – anticipates problems
Ability to follow company procedures and to adopt new methods as and when required
Ability to work well as part of a team
Support on-site H&S representative
Desirable:
Basic design in SolidWorks or similar CAD
Good IT literacy e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
COSHH
Forklift license
Knowledge / Education requirements:
Good knowledge of test methodologies, techniques
HNC/ HND / City & Guilds or relevant equivalent experience in Mechanical / Electronic / Electrical / Engineering
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Ability to operate required workshop equipment
Salary of £23K - £30K DOE
