- Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a leading engineering company based in the Uckfield area who are looking to recruit for a Development Quality Engineer to join their team.
The role:
As a Development Quality Engineer you will work in conjunction with the NPD Manager and key stakeholders including manufacturing, to develop and implement new NPD projects.
You will be responsible for monitoring and investigating quality issues from initial report to preventative action and implementation and also for Testing and Legislation / Compliance in line with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
You will lead product life testing of NPD products to the final end of line; defining and executing test plans for functional and reliability testing including design and selection of relevant test equipment.
£35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
25 days plus bank holiday
Key responsibilities:
Analysis and reporting of test results for communication internally to engineering management and wider non-technical audience
Provide 'hands-on' support to test system design and implementation including electro-mechanical testing, as well as fault detection and issue solving
Follow company development procedures ensuring full documentation is completed for all projects
Responsibility for writing design specifications/ traceability matrices, design test specifications and for carrying out reviews
Risk analysis utilising DFMEA’s or other methodologies as appropriate in support of NPD
Maintaining documentation to support ISO9001 acceptance test criteria and other relevant documentation such as SOP and good practice documentation
Any other duties for the company within the role holder’s capacity in accordance with their skills and capabilities
Person specifications:
Experience of functional and reliability testing of electro-mechanical products
Broad working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to work across wide range of projects simultaneously
Ability to produce technical reports to a high standard both in terms of technical content and presentation
Experience of DFMEA (or other methodologies)
SolidWorks Knowledge or similar
Drawing office knowledge and good working practices
Comprehensive understanding of Design & Product life cycle
Ability to work with other members and departments for the good of the project
Hardware Design (desirable)
Lean six sigma (Desirable)
Knowledge / Education requirements
Engineering Degree or HNC/ HND equivalent
Experience in Mechanical/ Electronic/ Electrical/ Engineering
Previous QA/ Development Engineer experience
Problem solving skills
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Knowledge of 5S or other Lean tools/ activities
Ability to work well as part of a team
£35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
25 days plus bank holiday
